- Setting a clear purpose for pupils work
- Setting and sharing clear objectives and establish success criteria
- Planning for pupils to share their work
- Incorporating a range of teaching and learning styles
- Giving pupils opportunities to work together
- Providing opportunities for evaluation, reflection and review
- Providing first hand learning opportunities and contact with creative people
- Asking open-ended questions
- Providing a stimulating physical environment
- Being ready to "go with the moment" if need be
- Modelling flexible and independent thinking and behaviour
