Outcome

All children enjoy working with the SEN TAs and recognise the support they receive helps them progress.

There is an obvious issue with homework as all children agree they receive homework but nine admit they do not complete it every week. We need to ensure parents are aware of weekly homework from SEN TAs (usually spellings, reading and/or handwriting). We intend to remind them through the termly year group newsletters.

One of the children who had not received a star target certificate was registered recently so is not in a position to receive one yet.

The one child who says she does not have a star target sheet and does not talk to Mrs Beasley also admits she does not do her homework every week and does not get help from a grown up at home. Obviously, she has not received a star target certificate. This child started our school last summer and has regular absences. Therefore it is very difficult to meet her needs. She has been awarded IPF so has been placed in a daily support group with two other children but does not reap the full benefits of this support because of absences. We are aware of all the issues and are addressing them.
